The Brief
A new build that
feels grown in.
feels grown in.
This newly built home was designed to tie its contemporary architecture into the beautiful, calming countryside around it. The Cotswolds are visible from every room in the house, and the interiors needed to hold their own against that view without competing with it.
In keeping with the surroundings we opted for weathered linens and earthy tones across the furnishings, adding character to the home and creating a comfortable, inviting feel.
Double height volumes and a galleried landing give the house its drama. Our job was to soften it: jute, aged timber, leather and antique finds that make a brand new building feel as though it has always been here.

The Living Space
Tall ceilings,
soft landings.
soft landings.
An olive linen sofa, chunky timber tables and a tan leather bench gather on jute at the heart of the double height living space. The galleried landing looks down over it all, and the log burner keeps things close and warm below.

The Dining Space
Room for
a long lunch.
a long lunch.
A ten seat table sits beneath a woven pendant, framed by deep green curtains and a gallery wall of collected art. Vintage rugs and terracotta soften the stone floor, and the kitchen waits just beyond.
“The house is brand new but it already feels like it has stories in it. House Nine gave it a warmth we didn't know it could have. The Owners
